Following up on the announcement of the first-ever new car delivery to a customer’s home without a human in the vehicle, Tesla has now released video footage of the historic journey.
The video provides a glimpse into the capabilities of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, offering a real-world look at a feat that could revolutionize the automotive industry.
The video documents the journey of a Tesla Model Y from the company’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, to the home of a customer.
Having watched the video, it’s clear this was not a simple, easy route chosen, it has a lot of complex challenges and really does a good job at showcasing Tesla’s software capabiltiies.

Leaving the production line
The Vehicle operating an unreleased version of the software, referred to as ‘Robotaxi software’, it was later downgraded to a regaular version of FSD (Supervised).

Tesla enters public roads
Leaving the Tesla-owned Gigafactory, the autonomous delivery takes it’s first trip on to residential roads.

Tesla enters the freeway
This is a key progression from what’s available in the driverless robotaxi’s launched last week.

Tesla 71 mph
Being on the freeway, we see the Tesla Model Y reach 71 mph, just below the 72 spotted in telementry by Ashok, the head of Autopilot at Tesla.

Tesla Side view no people
A Tesla Cybertruck pulls up aside the Model Y and clearly films there is nobdoy in the vehicle, this is backed up by an internal shot of the vehicle.
