Police said they responded to a single-vehicle collision shortly after 8 p.m. near Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Lakeside Avenue and located a vehicle that had entered the lake.

The driver, who was the lone occupant, was able to exit the vehicle and was transported to a hospital, an Ottawa Police Service spokesperson said.

The adult male was taken to the hospital “as a precaution,” according to an Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson.

The RCMP has since taken control of the investigation and did not respond for comment in time for publication.
