Justice  Murtala Zubairu of the Kaduna State High Court has declared as illegal, wrongful, and unconstitutional the forceful removal and subsequent seizure, detention, and confiscation of number plates of motor-vehicles, motorcycles, and tricycles.

The judge stated that the affected are all those vehicles that use public and private roads in Kaduna State.

In the same vein, it warned officers and men of KASTLEA being a mechanism for the enforcement of the Kaduna State Traffic Laws Enforcement Authority Law, No. 17 of 2017 to desist forthwith.

“From today, it will amount to contempt of court for officers and men of KASTLEA to remove number plates to enforce traffic laws and regulations in Kaduna State.

The judge made the pronouncement following a suit filed by Ehizogie Fidelis Imadojemu against the traffic agency on Suit Number: KDH/KAD/1198/2025.
