At least one woman was shot dead, and two others were left wounded in a shooting incident that occurred in Los Angeles’ Northridge on Saturday (November 22, 2025). The deceased woman was reportedly identified as Latin artist Maria De La Rosa, a singer who went by the name DELAROSA.
The shooting took place during the wee hours just before 1:30 AM on Saturday on Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in the Northridge neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by KTLA News. KTLA-TV reported that the 22-year-old Latin artist was hit by gunfire. It was dubbed an “ambush-style” killing, and she died later at the hospital.
Giving details about the incident, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officials said in a statement issued on Monday morning (November 24, 2025), “Witnesses described seeing two male suspects approach a vehicle that was parked on Bryant Street,” according to police. “Multiple rounds were fired at several victims who were parked in the area in their vehicle.”
De La Rosa rushed to hospital
De La Rosa was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The motive of the shooting is still unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
How did the shooting incident unfolded
LAPD clarified that three people were inside the car when gunfire erupted, and all of them were struck, according to KTLA News. De La Rosa was one of the victims, and the two other victims were said to be in critical condition on Saturday morning.
During the initial stage of the investigation, police identified the victim as “a 20-year-old woman” before a statement issued on Monday (November 24, 2025) named her as 22-year-old Maria De La Rosa. The names of the two other victims were not revealed, as they remain unidentified.
The young woman, who lost her life in the incident, was a Latin singer who released a song titled “No Me Llames”—which means “Don’t Call Me” in English—in August 2025.
