LaSalle police laid a pair of stunt driving charges, including one driver allegedly travelling more than twice the speed limit, over the weekend.

Officers stopped a vehicle Saturday just after 4 p.m., on Front Road, while conducting traffic enforcement.

The vehicle was captured on radar allegedly travelling 102 kilometres per hour in a 50 km/h zone.

Later Saturday, a LaSalle officer on patrol observed a pickup truck allegedly doing multiple “donuts,” a driving maneuver where the vehicle travels in tight circles, often while the rear wheels do a burnout with smoke produced from the burning rubber.

The incident occurred in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Talbot Road, while two passengers were in the back of the truck’s bed.

Police said there were no injuries.

A 21-year-old female and a 21-year-old male, both from Windsor, have been charged with stunt driving.

The female was also charged with failing to surrender a driver’s licence.

Both drivers had their licences suspended for 30 days and their vehicles impounded for 14 days.

They both must now appear in court to answer to the charges.
