Police are investigating the disappearance of a Ste Madeleine man who has not been seen or heard of since he sent a distress call on Saturday, hours after he left for a job interview.
The vehicle that Joshua Mohammed, 23, of Railway Line, Victoria Village, was last seen driving is also missing, police said.
A police report stated that around 11.45 a.m. on Saturday, Mohammed left the house he shared with his common-law wife and other relatives, driving a white Nissan AD wagon PCN7988 to attend a job interview at C3 Mall.
Police were told that on Sunday night at around 8.20 p.m., Mohammed’s common-law wife checked her phone and noticed she had a message from Mohammed that was received at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday, stating that he needed help.
Calls to his cell phone have gone straight to voice-mail and he has not returned home since, police were told.
A report was made to the police and an all-points bulletin for the vehicle was issued, but searches have been unsuccessful.
Mohammed is said to be about 179 centimetres (five feet nine inches) tall, of mixed descent with a medium-built, light brown complexion, a moustache and short curly hair.
When the Express visited Mohammed’s home yesterday, no one responded to calls at the house, and neighbours said they did not know him and were unaware of the incident.
W/Sgt Chance of the Ste Madeleine Police Station is continuing investigations.
