The Agency urge the public to verify facts before spreading misinformation that could create unnecessary panic.

The Presidential Initiative for Compressed Natural Gas (PICNG)
has debunked ‘fake reports’ claiming that a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered BRT vehicle caught fire on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos.

In a statement on Friday January 31st, PCNGI stated that the BRT bus in question was not powered by CNG. The Agency added that CNG remains a safe, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fuels when properly used and maintained.

“We wish to state that, the BRT bus in question was not powered by CNG as at the moment PICNG has only deployed CNG-powered small buses within the city, and none of our vehicles have been involved in any such incident.”

“The reports circulating on various sources suggesting that a CNG-powered BRT was involved in this unfortunate event are entirely false and misleading.”
