Acer has unveiled a bunch of new products at IFA 2025, and besides the gaming laptops, desktops, and monitors, the company has introduced a new gaming-focused peripheral, the Aethon 550 TKL. It’s a standard tenkeyless mechanical keyboard with tri-mode connectivity.
The company notes that the versatile Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz, and wired connectivity modes will allow users to effortlessly switch between multiple connected devices. Acer also highlights the hot-swappable design of the gaming keyboard, allowing users to easily customize the switch layout of the board (45 pcs Akko V3 Creamy Blue Pro curr. $10.39 on Amazon).
As for the battery life, Acer notes that it’s rated for up to 150 hours of runtime. While the company didn’t mention which connectivity mode this figure is for, it’s likely for the 2.4 GHz mode. The gaming keyboard is also said to offer a highly responsive experience, thanks to the polling rate as high as 1,000 Hz.
Of course, this isn’t the highest polling rate available on a gaming keyboard, as many wireless keyboards now offer up to 8,000 Hz polling rates. Another notable aspect of the Aethon 550 TKL is per-key RGB lighting, which allows users to fully customize the lights of each key through the bundled software.
Among the other highlights of the Aethon 550 TKL are a detachable USB Type-C cable, N-Key rollover, and a relatively sleek design. The gaming keyboard will be available in the EU for €129, around $150, but Acer has yet to confirm when it will be available to purchase.
