A man who left work and was scheduled to meet friends for a Christmas event died after apparently losing control of his car on his way home with the vehicle then ploughing through a ditch into a river. Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the R628 Conna Road in north Cork.
