Kebbi state branch of coalition of northern groups ( CNG) has condemned recent attack by armed bandits which claimed the lives of fifteen farmers.
The state coordinator, comrade Mansur Isah Guruza, on Monday, in an exclusive interview with our correspondent in Birnin Kebbi said that they are confused because what the government is saying in the media is different from the reality on ground going by the privilege information they are getting directly from the victims which is very devastating.
The group maintained that government and the security agencies fighting banditry must scale up efforts to contain the escalation of attacks and kidnapping in the state ” is either the government is not doing enough or the security forces at the battlefield lack advanced weapons or modern technics in the fight against banditry,” he queried.
He called on the state and the federal government to better equip the security agencies to ensure the safety of Nigerians and the people of Kebbi ravaged by intermittent attacks by armed groups ” we wonder why electoral materials can reach the remotes villages but same villages cannot be secured by the government is really disturbing to say the least, he added.
One mandatory voting being planned by the National assembly, the group described the law makers as confused persons who don’t know what Nigerians need now saying instead of paying attention to insecurity, galloping inflation, unemployment and poor education they are busy trying to trample on the rights of Nigerians ” we urge them to hold town hall meetings with their constituents to identify their demands and work towards meeting them not wasting energy on a paltry issue.”
While condemning the recent abduction of Christian worshippers in same Kebbi South, the group calls for immediate rescue of the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice ” we share the grief with parents of the abducted worshippers and reject it completely”. the group concluded.
