A fuel-laden tanker fell and exploded along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, igniting a massive blaze that affected several nearby vehicles.
The Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed the incident, which occurred at the NASFAT U-Turn area of the busy highway.
The command said its emergency rescue team promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and control traffic.
Preliminary reports indicate that multiple vehicles parked or moving near the tanker were caught in the resulting inferno. Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of casualties or the full extent of the damage.
Efforts are ongoing to clear the scene and prevent further escalation. Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes while emergency crews work to restore order.
