Meta has a new generation of Ray-Ban smart glasses in the pipeline, and the designs have just leaked.

The last pair of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses debuted in 2023, with the second-generation hardware eventually expanding to several different frame shapes. Following the debut of its Oakley-branded glasses, though, Meta appears to also be working on a third generation of Ray-Ban glasses.

Images of this next generation were posted by the “XR Reseach Instiute,” a group on WeChat (via UploadVR), with two devices. The first is simply referred to as “Ray-Ban Meta 3” and carries the codename “Aperol.” The design here isn’t like any of the existing options, but there are similar designs in Ray-Ban’s traditional sunglasses.

The other pair is called “Ray-Ban Meta 3 Optical,” and seems to be more focused on traditional eyewear. This one carries the codename “Bellini,” with both of those codenames having previously appeared in a report from The Information.

The leak goes on to mention “significantly better” battery life that would enable Meta’s “Live AI” feature to run for “hours” at a time compared to the current 30-minute limit. AI features as a whole would reportedly improve too with “real-time object recognition and scene understanding.”

However, these glasses won’t have a display still. These are direct successors to the existing Ray-Ban Metas, not to be confused with “Hypernova,” a product that has a display and was recently leaked by @MysteryLupin.
