Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said over 81,000 personnel will be recruited in the Uttar Pradesh police force this year.

The recruitment is proposed for various categories, including sub-inspector, constable (civil police), radio assistant operator, computer operator Grade-A and sub-inspector of police (Confidential). The process for some of these posts has already begun.
He was reviewing the working of various units of the state police and the plans prepared by the police department in a meeting held at his official residence.
“The recruitment drive will provide employment opportunities to youths and give the state a capable, energetic, and modern police force,” he said.
Modern technology, transparent recruitment procedures, and competent human resources are important to strengthen law and order, he said.
Officers should adopt a result-oriented approach, ensuring accountability at every level for a strong and reliable security environment, he said.
He directed the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board to ensure that all direct recruitments are completed in a timely manner, with complete transparency, fairness, and in accordance with the prescribed reservation provisions.
He emphasised the need to make the recruitment process technology-based and complete it within the stipulated timeframe, further strengthening the confidence of the youth.
During the review of the PRV-112 service, the chief minister directed officials to ensure strategic locations for Police Response Vehicles (PRVs) and their consistent movement. PRVs should be operated in a manner that strengthens public confidence in security and sends a clear message to criminals.
He instructed officials to strengthen technology, data-based patrolling and field coordination to further reduce the current average response time of approximately six minutes. Emphasis was laid on ensuring the availability of additional four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles as needed and on making the system of reviewing route charts every 15 days under hotspot-based patrolling more effective.
Yogi Adityanath ordered the transfer of police personnel posted for long periods at important locations in Lucknow, including Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister’s residence.
The review of fire and emergency services revealed that approximately 42,000 fires were controlled, more than 10,000 emergencies were responded to promptly, and property worth approximately ₹800 crore was saved during the year 2025-26.
The chief minister instructed that at least one hydraulic fire tender be made available in every district. The goal of “One Tehsil, One Fire Tender” should be achieved on priority and in a timely manner, he said. An extensive public awareness campaign should be conducted to prevent potential fire incidents during the summer season, he added.A review of cybercrime revealed that ₹425.7 crore was secured through prompt technical interventions in the financial year 2025-26. The efficiency of the ‘lien’-based system has reached approximately 34.6%. A total of 314,077 technical interventions (device locking/blocking) were carried out, including 114,220 IMEI blocking and 199,857 other mobile/device related actions. A total of 391,340 complaints were received during the year, of which 240,015 were registered, and legal action was ensured in 7,287 cases.
Officials informed the chief minister that the call handling capacity of Cyber Helpline 1930 has increased significantly, from an average of 1,709 calls per day to 7,467 calls per day. Approximately 59% of total calls have been effectively resolved. 65,608 police personnel have been trained.
The action against cybercrime should be made more technology-based, quick and effective, the chief minister said, adding that the protection of the public’s hard-earned money is a top priority.
A comprehensive cyber awareness campaign should be launched across the state, encouraging safe digital behavior and strengthening the 1930 helpline to ensure effective arrangements for prompt redressal of complaints, he said.
