Meta has unveiled its second-generation Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses at its Meta Connect 2025 event in Menlo Park, California.

The appropriately named Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) sports improved battery life and a higher-quality camera, on top of the first-gen smart glasses’ signature Meta AI features, hands-free calls and real-time conversation translation.

Specifically, the second-gen glasses now boast a 12MP ultrawide camera that can capture videos at up to 3K ultra HD resolution, up from the previous 2K support. On top of that, the battery now lasts for up to eight hours, a significant improvement over the first-gen glasses’ three to four hours.

Meta says it also improved AI functionality in several ways, which includes the addition of the new “Conversation Focus” feature. With it, the glasses’ open-ear speakers will filter out ambient background noise to amplify the voice of the person you’re talking to. This feature will be available with the Gen 2 glasses, as well as the existing first-gen model and the Oakley Meta HSTN glasses that launched earlier this year (via software update).

Other Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) specs include:

• Camera (videos) — 1200p at 60fps (up to 3 minutes), 1440p at 30fps (up to 3 minutes) or 3K at 30fps (up to 3 minutes)

• 32GB of storage
• Up to eight hours of continuous battery, or up to five hours for continuous playback or calling
• Charging case that provides up to 48 hours of battery (can also charge the glasses to 50 percent in 20 minutes)

The Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) smart glasses are available in many markets, including Canada for $519, on Meta and Ray-Ban‘s respective websites.
