Maker is aiming to reach 100mph (161 km/h) under Guinness World Record supervision at the Bonneville Speed Week in August.

Powered by 24,000W dual motor, ‘The Turbo’ clocked in a top speed of 85mph (135km/h) during its first test runs.

‘The Turbo’ uses a 1,800-watt-hour battery that delivers 150 miles (241 kilometres) of range on a single charge.

UK-based electric scooter company, Bo, has unveiled its latest creation called ‘The Turbo’ and dubbed the ‘world’s fastest e–scooter, amid calls for ban over dangerous and illegal use of mopeds, e–bikes and e–scooters in the country.

Built around unibody aluminum chassis and powered by 24,000W dual motor, ‘The Turbo’ uses a 1,800-watt-hour battery that delivers 150 miles (241 kilometres) of range on a single charge before needing a recharge.

“E-scooters have been revolutionising how people move locally, but they are yet to enter the leagues of mainstream automotive culture,” said Bo boss, Oscar Morgan.

“The Turbo is part of our mission to elevate these futuristic electric vehicles into the top tier of automotive performance.”

Bo is planning a very limited run for the high-performance electric scooter. With a eye–watering base price of $29,500, ‘The Turbo’ cost as much as the Toyota Camry that is priced between $28,700 (LE) and $34,900 (XSE).

The company carried out its first test runs at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, where the electric scooter, piloted by professional racing rider, Tre Whyte, clocked in a top speed of 85mph (135km/h).

Bo is now aiming to reach 100 miles per hour (161 km/h) under Guinness World Record supervision at the Bonneville Speed Week in August, where it will make its public debut.

“Having successfully completed the shakedown process on race tracks here in the UK, and with a high level of confidence in the stability and rideability of The Turbo, we are now initiating a process to increase the output and speed from the vehicle until we achieve our target,” Harry Wills, CTO at Bo, said.
