In a tragic developing story, world-renowned boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a serious road accident today, Monday, December 29, 2025, in Makun, Ogun State.

The incident occurred along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the vehicle carrying the former heavyweight champion collided with another car under circumstances that are currently being investigated by local authorities.

A rescue worker who spoke to PUNCH Online confirmed that while Anthony Joshua fortunately sustained only minor injuries, the crash resulted in two fatalities at the scene.

“Joshua sustained minor injuries, but two people died on the spot,” an eyewitness involved in the rescue mission stated.

The news has sparked immediate concern across social media, with fans and well-wishers flooding platforms with messages for the boxer. Joshua, who was recently named a Sports Ambassador for Ogun State by Governor Dapo Abiodun in late 2024, is a frequent visitor to his ancestral home in Sagamu.
