A police vehicle has crashed at an intersection in Brisbane’s north, just three days after a similar incident was caught on camera.
The police van crashed with at least one other vehicle at the intersection of Gympie Road and Linkfield Road in Bald Hills about 4.50pm on Tuesday.
“We’re not sure of the circumstances of it yet, in terms of urgent duty driving,” a police spokesperson said.
Two people with minor injuries were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital.
Photos shared on social media show the police van’s bumper has fallen off in the crash, with the vehicle located in the middle of the intersection.
Multiple ambulance crews and other police crews were seen responding to the incident.
It comes days after a similar incident, also on Brisbane’s north side.
Three police officers were injured when their car was struck on the way to an urgent job at the intersection of Maundrell Terrace and Rode Road in Chermside West on Saturday, December 20.
The patrol vehicle was under lights and sirens when a car allegedly failed to give way and crashed into the car’s passenger door.
The police car then smashed into a set of traffic lights, causing it to fall over.
The police officers suffered minor injuries. No one in the second car was physically injured.
As a result of the crash, the traffic lights were out for a number of hours and additional police were called in to direct drivers.
