Witness speaks out on emergency incident near Oxford city centre Greggs

A witness has spoken out on an emergency incident outside Greggs in Oxford city centre.

During the late afternoon of Wednesday, September 24, multiple police cars and ambulances were seen on Oxford’s Cornmarket Street.

Reports have indicated that a large area was cordoned off and that multiple police vehicles and ambulances attended the incident.

Thames Valley Police has since said it was a ‘medical incident’ and so not something that the service would issue an official public comment.

A member of the public contacted the Oxford Mail to reveal how a man had collapsed outside Greggs.

Mark Jodlowski said: “An elderly gentleman collapsed in the doorway of Greggs and appeared to be in cardiac arrest.

“A member of the public was administering CPR until two ambulances and police cars attended. What preceded the incident, I did not witness.”

South Central Ambulance Service has been contacted to confirm this information and Greggs has also been approached for comment.
