Tinted Car Windows Prohibited in Zimbabwe, Exceptions Only for VIP and Security Vehicles
The Government of Zimbabwe has reportedly announced a ban on tinted car windows for both public transport and private vehicles.
However, security and VIP vehicles will be exempt from the measure, EarGround TV reveals.
The decision follows investigations that revealed drugs being hidden in vehicles with heavily tinted windows.

Motorists Urged to Remove Window Tints
According to H-Metro, motorists have been urged to remove tints from their vehicles as authorities intensify efforts to curb drug and substance abuse.
The call was made on Tuesday by Tafadzwa Muguti, the Permanent Secretary for Presidential Affairs and Devolution, who said the measure is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve road safety and reduce criminal activity.

Authorities explained that the initiative aims to make vehicle interiors more visible, allowing law enforcement to detect and prevent illicit drug transportation while ensuring safer roads for all.
