ⓘ H3C
Early evidence has surfaced online that H3C is preparing to launch a new MegaBook detachable. Swapping Intel Lunar Lake for Intel Panther Lake, the MegaBook was available last year with a 2.8K, 14-inch and 120 Hz OLED display, too.
Now, it seems that a Panther Lake-based successor to last year’s H3C MegaBook is almost upon us. Officially, we cannot find H3C referencing a new version of the MegaBook yet. However, Geekbench is full of H3C MegaBook listings featuring Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325 processor. Paired with up to 32 GB of RAM, the Core Ultra 5 325 features 4 P cores and 4 Low Power cores with 4.5 GHz and 3.4 GHz peak clock speeds, respectively.
Despite being a generation newer, the Core Ultra 5 325 trails the Core Ultra 5 226V and Core Ultra 5 228V by over 15% in single-core tasks and 8% in multi-core equivalents. GPU performance is worse off, too. At this stage, it is unclear when H3C will officially unveil its new 2-in-1. Last year’s model debuted for CNY 5,999 (~$869) with a 14-inch, 2.8K and 120 Hz OLED display. Thus, this new Panther Lake model is unlikely to come cheap.
