The launch of Vivo’s next high-end smartphone is almost upon us. While the company is keeping quiet about some aspects, it has now confirmed that the Vivo X300s will surpass its X300 and X300 Pro siblings when it comes to battery capacity out of the box.
A few days have now passed since Vivo revealed initial details about its cheaper alternative to its forthcoming X300 Ultra flagship. Initially, it seemed that the device would line up as the X300 Max. However, Vivo then clarified on Chinese social media that it would be complementing the X300 Ultra with the X300s.
Also, the company clarified initial specifications, too. Previously, Vivo executive Han Bo Xiao outlined that the X300s would ship with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display sourced from BOE. Featuring a 144 Hz refresh rate, the X300s would surpass its X300 and X300 Pro peers while rivalling other modern flagships like the RedMagic 11 Pro and the OnePlus 15 (curr. $899 on Amazon).
Now, the same executive has shared that the X300s combines this display hardware with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that supposedly recognises fingerprints even with wet hands. Moreover, the Vivo X300s will ship with a USB 3.2 Gen 1-capable Type-C port, which Han Bo Xiao considers a sizeable upgrade on the X200s and its USB 2.0 equivalent.
On top of that, Vivo has installed a 7,100 mAh battery with bypass charging support. Not only is this capacity 14.5% larger than the X200s’ battery, but it also sees the X300s surpassing the X300 and X300 Pro by wide margins in China. We are still none the wiser with a release date for the X300s or X300 Ultra yet, though.
